Meet the Founders

Founded by Nigerian sisters, Rita Umoren and Elsie Ifon, Rimeks Bags & Brands beautifully merges the cultural richness of Africa with contemporary designs to create unique bags and accessories. Our journey began with a shared appreciation for the vibrant Ankara cotton fabrics—a hallmark of African artistry.  

Incorporated in January 2022, Cape Breton is home for Rimeks.   Rita passionately manages the daily business operations, ensuring that every product created tells a meaningful story and resonates with our customers.  With a love for both community and creativity, she brings a unique touch to every piece.
